How renta bed works
You rent one room in a home where the Host lives too. You pay a month at a time, and the rent covers the bills. renta bed is coming to Nigeria, so booking isn't open yet. This is how it will work.

How a stay works
- Step 1
Find a room
Each room shows its photos, monthly price, house rules and furniture, with its area as a circle on the map. Message the Host in the app if you have a question.
- Step 2
Check your ID, once
Your NIN and a quick live face check. It takes about 2 minutes. Your Host only sees that it passed, never your ID, NIN or selfie.
- Step 3
See it, then ask
Book a free in-person viewing if the Host offers times. Then send a request with your move-in date. It's free, and the Host has 12 hours to answer.
- Step 4
Pay for your first month
You only pay once the Host says yes, and you have 48 hours to do it. Card is the main way to pay, with bank transfer as the backup. You'll see the street address once you've paid.
- Step 5
Move in
Meet your Host at the home. Look over the room together, collect your keys, and you both confirm in the app. If the room isn't what the listing said, don't confirm. Report it and we'll step in.
- Step 6
Stay month by month
Pay at least 48 hours before your month ends, and we'll remind you first. Ready to go? Give 14 days' notice, check out with your Host and hand back your keys.

- No fee to view a room or send a request
- No separate bills for electricity, water, security or waste

An example to show the sums, not a real room or a promise of what you'll pay or earn. Each Host sets their own rent.
If plans change
If you change your mind
Within 1 hour of paying, you get everything back. After that, more than 7 days before move-in, the rent comes back. Within 7 days of move-in, one day's rent goes to the Host and the rest comes back. The Guest fee is kept in both cases.
If the Host cancels, or the problem is on their side
Your rent comes back in full, and your Guest fee becomes credit for your next place. The credit lasts 12 months.
If you don't pay for your next month in time
Only that next month is let go. You stay until the end of what you've paid for, then check out. Nobody is removed early, and there's no late fee.
How people are checked
- ID verifiedEvery Guest and Host: NIN and a live face check, done once.
- Tenancy verifiedHosts only. A rent payment from their own bank account shows they really rent here.
- Bank account in their nameHost payments only go to the person we checked.
- Paying only on renta bedNo money goes straight to a Host, and paying outside is always flagged.
These checks help a lot, but they can't promise how someone will behave, and we check people, not buildings. So read the listing, ask questions and book a viewing when you can. In danger? Call 112 first.
