What renta bed is
A simple way to rent a room in someone's home. Hosts rent a flat, live in it and have a spare bedroom. Guests rent that room and share the kitchen and living room.
- Pay monthlyOne month at a time, never a whole year.
- No agent feesNo agent or legal fees to pay.
- No depositNo caution fee to find before you move in.
- Bills in the rentElectricity, water, security and waste.
- Easy to leaveGive 14 days' notice, with no moving-out fee.
How a stay works
From finding a room to staying for as long as you like.
- Step 1
Find a room
See the photos, the monthly price, the house rules and the area. Message the Host in the app.
- Step 2
Check your ID and ask
Your ID check is done once. Book a free viewing if the Host offers times, then send a request. The Host has 12 hours to answer.
- Step 3
Pay for your first month
You only pay once the Host says yes, and you have 48 hours to do it, by card or bank transfer.
- Step 4
Move in and stay
Meet your Host and get your keys. Pay before each new month, and leave with 14 days' notice.
What's included
Always in the rent
- Electricity
- Water
- Security
- Waste
One monthly price, with no meters to top up and no bills to split.
Shown on every room, so you can choose
- Furniture
- Fully furnished, semi-furnished or unfurnished. Fully furnished means a furnished bedroom and living room, plus a kitchen with everyday essentials.
- Wi-Fi and cleaning
- The Host's choice. The room page says if you get them.
- Backup power
- A generator, inverter or solar, if the home has one. It never costs extra.
- Bathroom
- Some rooms have their own.
What it costs
Hosts set the rent, and the room price you see already has the 10% Guest fee in it, so the number you see is the number you pay each month. Viewing a room and sending a request are free.
Example: a room with ₦100,000 monthly rent
That's the rent plus the 10% Guest fee. The Host's 10% Host fee comes out of their share, not yours.

See what Hosts getHow people are checked
- ID verifiedEvery Guest and Host: NIN and a live face check, done once.
- Tenancy verifiedHosts only. A rent payment from their own bank account shows they really rent here.
- Bank account in their nameHost payments only go to the person we checked.
- Paying only on renta bedNo money goes straight to a Host, and paying outside is always flagged.
These checks help a lot, but they can't promise how someone will behave, and we check people, not buildings. So read the listing, ask questions and book a viewing when you can. In danger? Call 112 first.
Quick answers
Can I book a room today?
Not yet. renta bed is coming to Nigeria, and rooms aren't open for booking. Join the waitlist and we'll email you when they are. There's nothing to pay to join.
Is it a room or a bed?
A private room comes first: the bedroom is all yours, and you share the kitchen and living room with your Host. Shared bedrooms are coming later, for women only or men only.
Who lives there with me?
Your Host always lives in the home. They rent the flat, have their property owner's permission to host, and may have other Guests in other rooms. A bedroom holds 2 people at most.
Is renta bed an agent?
No. We don't own or manage the homes, and we aren't an agent. We run the ID checks, the booking, the payments and the help when something goes wrong.
